Malaysians stopped from supporting own team by Singapore immigrationThe Malayan Tigers football team fought to a goalless stalemate with Myanmar in their first match in the AFF Suzuki Cup, but for a group of Malaysians, they weren't even able to attend the match due to denial of entry at the Tuas immigration checkpoint.  Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is now seeking an explanation over the incident, which was brought to light when football fans notified him about the prohibition issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).  Allegedly, the fans were not allowed into Singapore just because they wanted to catch the match at Jalan Besar Stadium.  The minister has taken to Facebook to reassure his fellow countrymen that he has reached out to authorities in Singapore for an explanation. His post has garnered over 22,400 likes as of writing.    (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by Khairy Jamaluddin. “Although I respect the procedures of foreign countries, I’m disappointed with the treatment received by the Malaysian football fans”, he wrote.  According to TODAY, ICA has responded to Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports on the issue.  Photo: AFF Suzuki Cup Facebook page
