Pipe leakage at Changi Road causes tap water discolouration in eastern SingaporeResidents in the eastern part of Singapore including Duku Road, Still Road, Joo Chiat Road and more, got an unpleasant surprise yesterday when they turned on their taps only to see murky yellow water flowing out.  The Public Utilies Board (PUB) have informed in a press release that it’s due to a pipe leak that occurred on Still Road, and the junction of Changi Road. Repair works are in progress to isolate the leak, closing two traffic lanes along the road to facilitate valve operations. The discoloured water was due to re-suspension of mineral sediments in the pipe.  PUB have carried out flushing to the network and reportedly, the water has cleared up — customers only need to run their taps till the water turns clear before usage.  The water pipeline along Lorong Telok Kurau was also shut down this morning to facilitate repair work and the resident’s water supply were disrupted. PUB water wagons were on standby to provide water bags to affected customers.  Photo: Public Utilities Board Facebook page
