A former Singapore Customs investigation officer was charged in State Court earlier today for corruption — attempting to obtain intimate gratification in return for closing an eye to a criminal offence.
Earlier in July, 28-year-old Jonathan Sasayiah offered to show leniency to a Nursusilla Kassim for possessing contraband cigarettes in exchange for intimate acts with her.
“Law enforcement officers are vested with the authority to clamp down on illicit activities in Singapore,” the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau stated in their press release. “Any law enforcement officer who even attempts to abuse this authority for personal and corrupt gains will face severe consequences”.
