Singaporean motorists top the list in unpaid Malaysian traffic summonsesMalaysia's latest Auditor-General Report has revealed that Singapore-registered vehicles top the list of foreign vehicles with unsettled summonses.  A total of 16.3 million summonses were issued by traffic police from 2011 to 2013. 121,664 of them were issued to foreigners.  Singaporeans top the total number of summonses with 84,604 while Brunei accumulated 25,803. Only 12,713 summonses have been settled, leaving RM7.63 million in unpaid fines.  To combat this, The Star reports that Malaysian police will soon identify foreign cars with outstanding summonses entering the checkpoints with number plate recognition equipment.  To be fair, some Singaporean motorists are scared of returning to Malaysia, considering the bad experiences on the expressways and with the Malaysian police.  Photo: Kojach via Flickr
