As part of property developers City Developments Limited’s (CDL) ongoing efforts to enhance their labourers’ well-being, they will be offering computers and free Wi-Fi at their new onsite workers’ quarters.
The initiative is the latest in CDL’s commitment to the well-being of their workers, who they’ve described as the “unsung heroes of our industry”. They’ve also organised inter-company soccer matches to boost morale and camaraderie, along with various awards for excellence in safety and welfare to inculcate the attributes among their workforce.
“Beyond sustained vigilance to ensure safety at the worksites, we must continue to look for ways to create a better, happier and healthier workplace for workers,” CDL Deputy Chairman Kwek Leng Joo remarked. “By providing free wi-fi and computers, workers can stay connected with their family, and have another avenue for recreation and to acquire knowledge.”
