The third edition of the Ultimate Hawker Fest returns Nov. 22 at the Suntec Convention Centre Halls 401 and 402 from 11am to 5pm.
Organised by TOUCH Community Services, this year’s Ultimate Hawker Fest is curated by Maureen Ow of famous food blog Misstamchiak.com, Derek Tan from sgfoodonfoot.com and Ian Low fromTheSilverChef.com.
Coupons at S$50 per booklet can be purchased from the Ultimate Hawker Fest website. Coupons purchased online can be collected at TOUCH Community Services main office (Blk 162 Bukit Merah Central, #05-3545, Singapore 150162) or on the event day at the event venue. Admission to UHF 2014 is free and proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the services and programmes of TOUCH in meeting the needs of the disadvantaged.
Stalls will be helmed by chefs from the second, third and fourth generation of pioneers. Rong Cheng Bak Kut Teh and Lek Lim Nonya Cake Confectionery will be participating. Crocodile King by Tony Tee makes a comeback to offer nutritious crocodile soup for this festival.
Other highlights include the Elongated Glutinous Rice with Abalone by Geng Shu Mei Shi Shi Jia, 100 days corn fed Anxin Chicken Rice and Foie Gras Rojak by Onaka.
Young budding chefs who left their jobs in other sectors to join the culinary industry will be present to show off their skills. They include Fishball Story’s Douglas Ng, Penang Kia’s duo Gerald and Julyn and Old Bibik Beef Rendang’s duo Wee and Adrian.
Celebrity Chef Eric Neo from Intercontinental Hotel, Tan Yong Hua from Restaurant HOME, Melvin Lim from Ramada and Days Inn Hotels Singapore, and Gastrogig’s newest team member Shen Tan will cook up local dishes such as Otah, Roast Duck, Nasi Lemak and more.
