In July 2015, the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) will be launching a new dialysis centre that offers night dialysis in Jurong West Street 91.
According to Channel NewsAsia, the centre will host 16 dialysis stations, currently serving 96 patients.
Right now all of NKF’s dialysis centres work according to three shifts daily: morning, afternoon and evening. With the introduction of its new night dialysis shift – from 11pm to 6am – the centre will be able to serve an extra 32 patients.
Moreover, the existing five NKF dialysis centres in the west are experiencing troubles matching up to the high demand for machines. About 117 NKF patients residing in the west have to travel elsewhere for treatment as there are no available slots.
With this new initiative, NKF hopes to reach out to more patients in the future.
