Police arrest man impersonating as public servant along Little IndiaYesterday, a 22-year-old man, identifying himself as a police officer, approached two victims at Kerbau Road and demanded to conduct a check on their belongings – which included some cash. Upon surrendering their possessions, the suspect took the cash and fled the scene. The victims ran after him and managed to detain the culprit. Police officers, whom later arrived at the scene, placed him under arrest and recovered the stolen cash. The suspect will be charged in court today. Upon conviction, he will face two charges – which carries punishments amounting to an imprisonment term of up to five years, or with fine, or both.
