You might've already heard of the Mat & Minah, a dating app that works just like Tinder, which launched in Singapore last month.
It's only available on iPhone, but the Android version should be rolling out in the next couple of weeks. "Mat" and "Minah" are colloquial slang for Malay men and women, but the play on stereotype doesn't end there.
The app, developed by one Zuraimie Ismail to cater to the increasing number of Muslim singles in Singapore, also has a funny promo video poking fun at Malay stereotypes like "Mat Rock" and "Mat Motor".
