Singapore theatre director Ivan Heng invited to state banquet at Buckingham Palace

Cultural Medallion winner and artistic director of W!ld Rice Ivan Heng, has been invited to a state banquet hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.  The event held on Oct. 21 at the Buckingham Palace, honours the long-standing relationship between the United Kingdom and Singapore, which is sending its President on an official state visit there for the firrst time.  Uploading the invitation on Facebook, which arrived just 12 days after he married long-time partner Tony Trickett in London's Chelsea Town Hall following the Queen's Royal Assent to The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act in England and Wales, Heng wrote, "My husband and I are very moved and deeply honoured to attend. We do so as proud representatives of Singapore and members of the Singapore arts community.""Long live the Queen. Majulah Singapura," he finished.
