World AIDS day is observed on Dec. 1 every year, and it’s important to remember that it’s still a major pandemic afflicting at least 35.3 million people all over the world currently with no cure in sight.
A group of students from the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) have taken it upon themselves to raise awareness about the affliction, and they’re doing so by calling together some of Singapore’s top independent music bands to Beep Studios for a music festival with a cause — Rethink AIDS.
Organized by The Kaleidoscope in collaboration with Action For Aids Singapore and held in conjunction with World AIDS Day 2014, they aim to generate awareness and reduce the stigma associated with people currently living with HIV and AIDS. The event looks to attract folks with major local music names including the likes of A Vacant Affair, Spectrum, The Summer State, Cashew Chemists, Sphaeras and Pleasantry.
Rethink AIDS takes place on Nov. 22 at Beep Studios. Entry is free to public; more details available on the Facebook event page.
