Eight passengers and 14 cabin crew members were injured when Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight SQ 424 encountered turbulence during their descent into Mumbai airport last Saturday night.
The sudden air turbulence caused the aircraft to hit the runway twice, leading to the injuries.
Travelling from Singapore to Mumbai, the plane carried a total of 408 passengers and 25 crew members. According to various reports, the injured passengers were conveyed to Seven Hills hospital while crew members were rushed to Hiranandani Hospital.
The official statement by SIA indicates that investigations will be conducted for this incident.
