On Wednesday, five youngsters – aged 16 to 22 – were arrested for rioting with a deadly weapon in Woodlands.
The day before, police responded to a report regarding a fight around Woodlands Avenue 3. It was said that the group of male assailants was chasing after a 21-year-old man, eventually injuring him with a knife. The young men had fled the scene by the time the police arrived.
After conducting extensive enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage, police managed to establish the identities of the culprits. They were apprehended at various locations on the same day.
All suspects are receiving their sentences in court today. Upon conviction, they'll face up to 10 years in jail, and caning.
