Folk-pop star Yuna will be bringing her dreamy voice to Singapore on Nov. 2 for the annual President Star Charity (PSC) – already in its 11th year – along with various other local artists.
The 27-year-old Malaysia-born singer-songwriter stepped into the music scene in 2006 when she auditioned for the singing contest One in a Million. Despite being cut from the competition after making it into the top 40, she was later approached in the United States by record label Indie-Pop. Since then, she has been making waves all over America.
According to Today, Yuna, together with artists like The Sam Willows, will be performing as the melody component to several musical performances.
Young talents such as Sophie Soon, Yan Neil Chan, Robert Tan and the winners of MediaCorp Symphony 92.4GM Young Talents Project 2014 will also take the stage.
As for the customary celebrity challenges, the two-and-a-half-hour show will feature a lip synch battle, dance-off, and an acapella group challenge featuring popular local stars like Chua Enlai, Yusoff, James Seah, Tay Ping Hui and Vanessa Fernandez.
Miyoko Shida Rigolo from Fukuyama city, too, will hold up a gravity-defying zen Japanese dance during the show.
The PSC will be telecast live on Channel 5, 7:30pm – 10pm.
