A 17-hour police operation on Oct. 14 concluded with the arrest of 29 subjects involved in various offences.
The joint operation, which involved officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Central Narcotics Bureau Supervision “F” Division, Singapore Civil Defence Force and the Criminal Investigations Department, included raids at public entertainment outlets and public housing estates around Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Punggol, Sengkang, Sembawang and Yishun.
Among the 29 arrested, the majority were connected to drug offences. Five packets of ‘Ice’ amounting to 25g and seven ‘Ecstasy’ pills were confiscated.
Two people were nabbed for offences under the Common Gaming Houses Act and Betting act, and two other were for offences under the Societies Act. Two handphones used in to facilitate betting activites were seized.
A public entertainment outlet was exposed for breaching the Public Entertainment and Liquor Licensing Conditions, while another was found to have violated fire safety requirements.
Investigation against all subjects are underway.
