SMRT Corporation's advertising arm SMRT Media had its webpage hacked yesterday.
According to Channel NewsAsia, visitors to the website were redirected to another page resembling the layout of a hacked newspaper website. There, they placed a banner stating “Hacked by Bortecine Tim”. The alleged hacker's location was identified as Dogu, Turkistan.
An engineering and contracting firm Concord is also said to have fallen victim to the hacking.
SMRT’s Vice President of Corporate Info. & Comm. Mr. Patrick Nathan confirms that the site has been recovered, and that investigations are underway.
