Videos of supposedly legal moneylenders demanding payment from a HDB flat occupant are going viral.
The first video, brought to light by socio-political website The Online Citizen, features three men, who look to be in their early 20s, approaching the Buangkok apartment of one Jonathan, and verbally harassing him in a mix of Chinese dialects.
The second video was uploaded by YouTube user DZGlobal, believed to be the name of the debt recovery company involved, on Oct. 7. Here, a woman is seen standing behind the gate of the now opened door and talking to "Xiao Long", who's demanding the return of the $200 to $300 borrowed by her husband.
The emergence of the videos, has led viewers to question the credibility of these so-called "legal" ah longs. So brazen is this particular DZ Global, that it has uploaded several videos of its "field collection" operations on YouTube, possibly as a 'portfolio', or even a reminder to potential "uncooperative debtors".
