On Tuesday, a 43-year-old man was arrested breaking into HDB units in Hougang Avenue 2, Simei Street 1, Tampines Avenue 4, Ubi Avenue 1 and West Coast Road.
He is said to have entered the homes via their common corridor windows, and was picked up by police in Clementi.
Since September 2014, police had received several reports of break-ins that involved stolen cash, jewellery, gadgets, laptops and handphones amounting to approximately $15,000.
The suspect will be charged in court today for Housebreaking and Theft by Day. Under Section 454 of the Penal Code, this crime carries up to 10 years of imprisonment.
