Interpol is extending their long arm of the law into the realms of cyberspace, and they’re planning to do so with their first ever Digital Crime Centre, which will be based here.
According to TODAY, the upcoming Interpol Global Complex for Inovation (IGCI) headquarters here will house the Digital Crime Centre, which will provide law enforcement agencies with ultra-modern tools and techniques to counter cybercrime when the complex begins operation next year.
The IGCI will be a cutting-edge research and development facility for the identification of crimes and criminals, innovative training, operational support and partnerships.
In a handover ceremony this morning, Second Minister of Home Affairs S. Iswaran enthuses that the Digital Crime Centre will be of great value to the police force. “It will also facilitate information sharing with the private sector, which could have critical information that can strengthen efforts and actions against cybercrime," he posits.
