Last Thursday, the Singapore Army launched the trial for IPT-in-the-Park, which allows operationally-ready National Servicemen to train for their physical test in more 'heartland' locations.
The session, attended by Second Minister for Defence Mr. Chan Chun Sing, was held at Bishan Park, one of five locations that have been specified for the training sessions.
The others are Esplanade Park, Jurong Central Park, MOE (Evans Road) and Punggol Park.
Before, NSmen would to have to travel significant distnace to get to their respective Fitness Conditioning Centres.
Talking to Cyberpioneer about the new program, the official website of Ministry of Defence and Singapore Armed Forces, a 24-year-old IT consultant who served in the Signals Formation said, “It’s more convenient and accessible. I’ll be able to come more often and do more sessions in a week.”
