![Fire at Petir Road maisonette injures two]()
A fire broke out at a maisonette located at Petir Road earlier today, injuring a 40-year-old lady and a five-year-old child.
Channel NewsAsia reports that the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the incident in the afternoon, deploying a response team comprising of a fire engine, two light fire attack vehicles, two fire bikes, a support vehicle and an ambulance to the scene. They quickly extinguished the fire with one water jet.
According to SCDF investigations, the fire started in the second-level bedroom and did not spread any further. The two casualties suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital.
