Just a little over a month into opening, a seafood house along Geylang Road has found itself beset with an unfortunate turn of events — a car crashed into the coffee shop last night.
According to various media reports, the Suzuki Swift rammed into the crowded establishment around 7pm, sending diners scurrying away to safety. The driver was reportedly slumped over the passenger’s seat, but showed no indication of intoxication.
Only one man was reported wounded and was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment.
Eerily, Geylang seems to be a hotbed for vehicles crashing into eateries. Last month, a lorry smashed into a restaurant at Geylang Lorong 11, damaging multiple other vehicles nearby. In 2010, a Vietnamese woman was killed when a taxi ploughed into the footway in front of a pub near Lorong 41 Geylang.
Investigations are currently on-going.
