On account of Gallery Hotel’s upcoming upgrading works, contemporary Tokyo-style restaurant Satsuma Shochu Dining will be closing doors in November.
The seven-year-old dining bar is Singapore’s first and only Shochu-speciality Japanese restaurant. Many in Japan consider Shochu, a distilled alcoholic beverage, as the healthier drink choice. Aside from the popular alcoholic drink, the restaurant also serves up a wide variety of food – from sashimi to hot-piping kimchee hot-pots.
According to food news blog SoShiok, Satsuma has released a press statement stating that this will only be a temporary shut down for the restaurant. It’ll take this time to search for another location, ideally Mohammed Sultan area.
In the mean time, Japanese food aficionados can head to their sister restaurant Shunjuu Izakaya to get their fix.
