13 months imprisonment for man involved in bizarre molest incident

A man was sentenced to a jail term of 13 months and three strokes of the cane for trespassing into an unlocked HDB flat, peeping into the bathroom where a 16-year-old girl was showering, and then molesting her when she was pushing him out of the house.  According to TODAY, 29-year-old Tan Wee Beng took off his clothes and covered his head with a T-shirt before entering the house of the victim.  The door of the flat was left open and the metal gate closed, but unlocked. Details of the incident entail Tan entering the house and standing on a stool to peep into the bathroom where the victim was showering. Upon discovering Tan, the girl covered herself and tried to push him out of the flat as he resisted, scratched and molested her throughout the clamour before running away. He only surrendered himself to the police when images of him - caught on CCTV - were published in the media.  Three charges were pressed on Tan for insulting the victim’s modesty, voluntarily causing hurt and using criminal force on her with intent to outrage her modesty.  Photo: Wikimedia Commons Read Also: Molester posed as NGO rep at school on Clementi Road
