Thanks to the Singapore Police K-9 unit, a man was arrested yesterday at Woodlands Checkpoint for the attempt to smuggle in about 1.9 kilograms of heroin, according to a press release by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
A K-9 officer and his canine colleague detected something amiss and conducted a detailed search on the Malaysian arriving at the motorcycle lane, which uncovered a bundle of drugs hidden in the back seat compartment of the motorbike. Another stash of drugs were also found at the man’s groin region.
In total, four bundles of heroin weighing approximately 1.93 kilograms were uncovered, worth $135,000 in street value. CNB added that the drugs seized could have fed the addiction of 920 abusers for a week.
