At a commencement ceremony this morning, Health Minister Mr. Gan Kim Yong announced future plans for a new nine-storey medical centre at Changi General Hospital.
The new institute, which completes by 2017, will focus on providing specialist care to outpatients with complicated illnesses such as gastroenterology, endocrinology and general surgery. It will house minor surgery rooms for simple procedures.
Besides this $220 million project, the hospital will see new additions to its current facilities – a new integrated building opening this December and a total of 1,100 beds by 2020.
