James Raj Arokiasamy, the alleged 'Messiah' hacker, must have pissed off a lot of people - he was dealt with an additional 105 charges on top of his current 57 indictments in court on Monday.
According to Channel NewsAsia, the recent charges include hacking and modifying City Harvest Church co-founder Sun Ho's fan site, acquiring unauthorised access into the Fuji Xerox webserver, scanning several government-related websites including those of the Prime Minister's Office, Singapore Elections Department and many more.
The 36-year-old has been in hot water ever since he was apprehended last year for orchestrating the 2013 Singapore cyberattacks, hacking into the People's Action Party's Community Foundation's webpage and a subpage on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's website among many others. Fashioning himself as 'The Messiah' and purportedly committing the digital bombardment on behalf of global hacktivist collective Anonymous, the cyberattacks even got reported in overseas publications including The Economist and The Huffington Post, and his online rampage only got shut down in November last year when he was arrested in a Kuala Lumpur apartment, where he was operating.
Almost a year on, Raj is today facing a total of 162 charges, including four of which are drug-related. Considering the seriousness of his misdeeds, the court has not granted him bail, and a pre-trial conference date has been set for Aug. 27.
