![Perspectives Film Festival returns from Oct. 16 to 19]()
The seventh edition of the Perspectives Film Festival will take place from Oct. 16 to 19 with the theme of “displacement” – films about characters shunned by society and disconnected from the worlds they live in. The festival is run by undergraduates of Nanyang Technological University with the support of the Wee Kim Wee Legacy Fund.
Seven films will be screened over the four days at Golden Village VivoCity and the National Museum of Singapore including Mira Nair’s debut feature Salaam Bombay!, Lou Ye’s Suzhou River and Short Term 12, which won the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2013. A series of talks and workshops on exploring themes of social justice through creative work will also be held.
