![Tickets for Pangdemonium’s production of 'Frozen' now on sale]()
First things first, no, they’re not doing Disney’s Frozen. Far from a fantasy comedy with catchy songs, Bryony Lavery’s Frozen is a psychological thriller about revenge, forgiveness and survival.
After her 10-year-old daughter goes missing, Nancy (Karen Tan) remains “frozen” in a state of denial and false hope for two decades. We’re then introduced to Agnetha (Janice Koh), a psychiatrist delving into the minds of serial killers, and Ralph (Adrian Pang), a recluse who is either a monster or a misunderstood man-child suffering from an illness. As their paths and stories intertwine, the secrets of each character are revealed, shedding light on the human psyche.
First performed in 1998, Frozen was nominated for four Tony Awards following its Broadway debut in 2004. It will be Pangdemonium’s last show of the 2014 season, after the successful stagings of Fat Pig and The Rise & Fall of Little Voice.
Frozen will run from Oct. 23 to Nov. 9 at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Tickets are available from $35 through Sistic. A full list of timings is also available on the Sistic website.
