The National University of Singapore (NUS) has moved up 23 places from 134th to 111th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by the Centre for World-Class Universities (CWCU), which lists more than 1,200 institutions.
NUS has also improved in rankings under the Broad Subject Fields and Subject Fields lists (below) by ARWU.
The world universities rankings are determined by six factors: the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of Highly Cited Researchers, the number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index – Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance with respect to the size of an institution.
