![Lifeguard performed oral sex 15-year-old, gave him disease]()
On Tuesday, Chew Ee Cheong, a 31-year-old lifeguard, was sentenced to 10 months in jail after admitting to performing oral sex on a 15-year-old student at Bukit Batok Swimming Complex, according the The Straits Times.
Apparently, another charge of committing an obscene act with a minor by rubbing his private parts on the victim's anus, was also considered.
The victim first met Chew at the swimming complex in February this year. One day, the lifeguard approached the victim and brought him into a shower cubicle where he removed the victim’s swimming trunks and touched him.
The incident was uncovered by a doctor the victim had visited on March 17, when he'd found warts on his anus. Four days later, clinic staff contacted the police, who arrested Chew on April 2. Screening results showed he had syphilis.
District Judge Lim Tse Haw said, “You have betrayed the trust by taking advantage of the immaturity of the victim to commit the indecent act on the victim. I see that as an aggravating factor.''

EDITOR'S NOTE: The Court had considered two charges — performing oral sex on a minor, as well as committing an obscene act by rubbing his private parts on his anus — when trying Chew in court. The latter information, which had been missing in the original version of the article, has been included. The headline has also been changed to reflect this.
