The Singapore Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit has just disposed of yet another war relic discovered in a construction site in the western part of Singapore.
In a Facebook post today, the army announced the standby team was activated yesterday morning to deal with a 107mm calibre round that was fused and fired. According to the post, the protective cap was missing and the striker head was exposed making the round extremely dangerous to handle. "The heavy rain didn't make things any easier and the relic was assessed to be unsafe for handling," it wrote.
The round was successfully disposed of in the evening.
