Should Malaysia raise its toll charges for the Causeway, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority has stated that it will match the price.
Reports say Malaysia will raise toll charges for all vehicles except motorcycles traveling from Singapore to Johor through the Causeway, and will also establish a new toll for all vehicles. Both charges are said to come into effect next month, Channel News Asia reported.
As per the new charges according to the report, cars will pay about S$6.50 for a return day trip to Singapore, a S$5.40 increase from the current one-way charge. Buses will pay S$5.20, and taxis S$3.20.
LTA is awaiting confirmation from Malaysian authorities on the aforementioned charges before it will decide on the appropriate action.
