In a Facebook post uploaded today, Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong called for Singaporeans to keep the victims of the on-going Israel-Palestine conflict in their thoughts and prayers. "The Middle East is far away, but still we empathise with the pain and suffering of the Palestinian people, because of our common humanity," he wrote.
PM Lee also reminded that there was no easy solution the conflict, which goes back almost a century. "Singaporeans have donated generously, and not only Muslims," he shared. "I hope more concerned Singaporeans will continue showing support in this way."
