Ilhan Fandi and Ryan Marc Tan are surely living up to their reputation as the sons of local football greats at the world's largest youth tournament, the Gothia Cup.
Representing the country as part of his father, LionsXII coach Fandi Ahmad's F-17 Academy, Ilhan scored a wonder strike (watch below) in the team's first game against local side IKF Goteberg 2. Singapore won the game 3-2.

Marc Tan, the team's proclaimed "star player" and son of former national striker Steven Tan, scored all the goals — a hat trick —for Singapore in their second game against record champs IF Brommapojkarna.

F-17 director Nabil Yusoff told Yahoo! Singapore that the team representing Singapore at the Gothia Cup this year is "100 percent all local boys" who describes as "green, excited, nervous and not sure what to expect". However, he was confident that Ilhan and Tan, both of whom have trained overseas in places like Argentina and Chile, will pave the way for their team mates.
Former national player and the current Singapore U-23 coach Aide Iskandar, is also represented at the Gothia Cup through his son Andre Shawqi Aide.
The Gothia Cup has been graced by some of the world's best players in the past, including Italy's Andrea Pirlo and England's Alan Shearer.
