Fundraiser on track to set up children's section in Singapore queer libraryPhoto: A selection of books available at the Pelangi Pride Centre; PPC Facebook It's full steam ahead for members of the local community dismayed with the decision of the National Library Board (NLB) to pulp three children's books it believes to be 'anti-family'. Two mothers organised a mass reading of books like And Tango Makes Three and Who's in the Family? yesterday, at about the same time an online letter protesting NLB's move — meant to be delivered to the local authorities — garnered about 26,000 signatures.  Today, we discovered a Pozible project raising funds to start a children's section at the Pelangi Pride Centre library.  Called The Penguin and Swan Collection, the section will stock books featuring unconventional family structures, including My Father's Arms are a Boat, King and King, a well as the titles banned by NLB. The full book selection here. The project by Culture Kitchen and The Gyanada Project founder Adrianna Tan, has raised about $700 of its $1,500 target, which will be used to buy two copies of each book on the list. It expires Jul. 24.
