A 24-year-old man is being charged today for his suspected involvement in 15 cases of theft island-wide.
The loot? Battery packs worth about $18,450 in total.
Police had received reports of battery pack thefts from telco mobile base stations between May and June this year.
The affected stations were located in Mandai, Marina Square, Orchard Road, Sentosa and Tanjong Pagar.
Police then conducted ground enquiries and reviews of CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the thefts, eventually establishing the identity of the suspect.
He was ambushed and arrested on June 23 in Bedok North.
If convicted, the man faces a maximum of three years in jail, and is liable to a fine for each charge.
