Pre-orders for the world's first smart lighter QuitBit have begun, and while half are coming from the US, the other half that's coming from the rest of the world is made up significantly of Singapore buyers.
The next biggest "other" market is Japan.
A smart lighter you say? Well, the creators say that by tracking your smoking habits, you are more likely to make an effort to reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke a day.
The QuitBit lighter does this by showing you how much you've smoked and how long since your last puff. You can then set whatever goal you want, be it to reduce or quit smoking completely.
In an interview with Tech in Asia, founder of QuitBit Ata Ghofrani had this to say about his inspiration: “We came up with idea for QuitBit specifically for ourselves. I wasn’t sure how much I was smoking a day.”
The Kickstarter project reached its goal of $50,000 six days ago and according to Ghofrani, it's had a ton of presales are coming from Singapore. He also adds that he expects the product to be ready to ship by December.

Though their Kickstarter campaign has ended, you can still get your hands on the QuitBit from their website.
