Singapore welcomes first industry body for digital currencyThe Association of Cryptocurrency and Startups, Singapore (ACCESS), possibly Asia's first commercial body representing the interests of Bitcoin and other digital currency users, was announced today.  ACCESS revealed in a statement it is a fully registered society with the Registry of Societies under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and represents various businesses including exchanges, miners and vending machines.  CoinPip and Tembusu Terminals are some of its existing members.  ACCESS aims to promote Singapore as the "premier location" for the development of businesses and services related to cryptocurrency platforms and technologies. The association will work to provide a regulatory framework for this process that both encourages innovation and protests the interests of consumers.  Chairman Anson Zeall explains that ACCESS wants to provide an open and clear dialogue between Singapore cryptocurrency businesses and the wider public, including regulators. "With the forming of our association, we will help facilitate an ecosystem where Singapore can be a hub for (cryptocurrency) businesses to grow and create jobs," he said.  Read Also: Police probes 'unnatural' death of American bitcoin exchange CEO
