Police have arrested a 33-year-old man linked to a case of robbery and assault in Compassvale Link.
In the early morning hours of June 2, the victim reported being assaulted by an object he believed was a pole and robbed of his sling bag. He suffered laceration on his head and was sent to the hospital.
The incident happened in the vicinity of Compassvale Link.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the suspect via footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area and arrested him on June 20 at Penjuru Close.
It's believed the suspect will be charged in court today, and faces up to 20 years in jail and no less than 12 strokes of the cane if convicted.
