A very strange series of events unfolded earlier in Singapore this evening.
According to a Channel NewsAsia report, a fruit stall owner had observed a 'karung guni' (rag and bone) man wheeling a trolley suitcase down the road in Syed Alwi Road, when two tourists stepped forward to help at his request.
When they touched the bag, they discovered they had blood on their hands and asked the stall owner if they could his washroom facilities.
Apparently the karang guni man had no idea what was inside the suitcase — a legless torso possibly belonging to a male victim.
Several policemen arrived at the scene an hour later (6.04pm) after receiving a phone call about the grisly find.
An investigation is underway.
