A former reporter with the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has been given 18 months jail time for having sex with an underaged girl.
In 2011, the man identified as 29-year-old Eisen Teo Guan Kuan had taken the girl to a Fort Canning Park toilet and had gotten her to fellate him.
Teo also admitted that he had invited the same girl to his Serangoon Avenue 1 flat in June that same year, and had had sex with her in his study while his wife was in the kitchen, baking.
According to Channel NewsAsia, district judge Hamidah Ibrahim came down hard on Teo despite the accused's early guilty plea, saying that Teo was "audacious" to have had sex with the victim while his wife was just "metres away".
The girl was one of a dozen students in a media club under the mentorship of Teo, and was 14 at that time.
Teo will begin serving his sentence on June 24, 2014.
