No one goes bar hopping anymore, OK? No one.
In Singapore at least, it's all about which cafe's got the coolest rendition of industrialist design and whose poached eggs look best on Instagram.
And there are a lot of people living in this tiny, but buzzy island-state that would wake up at 8am after a night of drinks to check out a five-minute-old cafe.
So it was only a matter of time before an event made cafe hopping as a legit activity official.
First to set the standard is Cafe Fest, which dubs itself as "the world's first cafe hopping street".
The idea is to gather the hottest cafes in Singapore at the time (see list of participants below) in one place, so enthusiasts can try all their offerings without having to take days off work.
As the organisers believe "festivals should be festive", there'll also be music — local acts 53A, MarchXHashy and The Sessionists are set to perform during the two-day event (Sep. 6 — 7) at Waterfront Promenade.
Cafe Fest is free to enter, but you'll need tickets to buy food and drink from the booths (which is why you're there, right?). Get them for $20 — 30 on the event website. Freebies include Uber rides on festival days, Spa Esprit vouchers and a tote bag.
