PM Lee addresses freedom of speech for first time since launching lawsuit against bloggerPrime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong has remained relatively quiet since sueing blogger Roy Ngerng for defamation, that is until now — when he recently shared an article by the Financial Times (FT) on his Facebook (FB) page regarding the government's place in online commentary.   In his post, the PM goes on to say that he agrees with Communications and Information Minister Yaacob Ibrahim (who'd earlier shared the same FT article), and "that freedom of speech does not come free from the need to be responsible for what one says, either online or offline." The most 'liked' comment in response to PM Lee's FB share, comes from a guy named Nervin Pillai, who goes on to ask whether "it is morally correct to sue your own citizen".  Read PM Lee's FB post, uploaded Tuesday (June 3).  (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by Lee Hsien Loong.
