![Bukit Timah Nature Reserve closed for six months from September]()
Public access to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve (BTNR) will be limited for about two years from September 15, says the National Parks Board (NParks).
Over the years, NParks have found that the reserve's slopes and trails are eroding, and much of the forest is suffering damage.
The closure will allow the repair and restoration of the affected parts, as well as an upgrade of the 20-year-old visitor centre at the foot of the BTNR.
To make it easier for members of the public that frequent the reserve, its limited access will occur in phases.
BTNR will be completely closed for slope stabilisation for six months, but will the Main Road trail leading to the Summit will be reopened on the weekends after that. The rest of the reserve will remain closed for a further 18 months to accommodate the repair work.
