Little known blogger throws $40,000 birthday bash, will probably get super famousSara Shantelle Lim, who shares a blog called The SG Sisters with her sister Lora Christelle, is celebrating her 27th birthday at new 1-Altitude Club Altimate tonight. Erm, who cares, right? And who's this girl? The SG Sisters? Which ones?  Well, you're about to remember her name now.  Sara's birthday bash tonight is worth over $40,000 and she's not paying for any of it.  The venue, which costs over $20,000 a night to rent, is covered, and so is everything else, courtesy of big names like Auchentoshan, Brewerkz, Candylicious, Courvoisier, Dan Takeda, Delcie's Jim Beam and Pinnacle Vodka.  According to a a press release — yeah the marketing for this thing is off the charts, even has a poster that wouldn't look out of place in a Katy Perry music video — there'll be a candy buffet, a three-tier cake worth over $1,000 and three diamond rings, which Sara plans to give away to the party's best dressed guests. Even her outfit is paid for.  In her press release, Sara explains that most of the sponsors are close friends who want to show her a good time. Others either look at it as an opportunity to promote their brand on her "luxury blog" or want to "tap into her strong network of contacts".  Local tabloid The New Paper tore the press release to shreds, making fun of its length, Sara's spelling ("It's Courvoisier, darling"), as well as her tendency to name-drop. "Shameless" and "showoff", contributed by responding "netizens" were splashed across the newspaper's front cover today.  But it looks like Sara doesn't care. After describing TNP and other media who apparently have been "harassing" her friends and sponsors as "unethical", "unprofessional" and "unscrupulous", she explains how all the coverage has made her blog go viral. "To all Business Students (sic): this publicity stunt is deemed as "Effective Marketing" (sic) response," she said."I've hit the Malaysian newspapers too (and now) have quite a lot of Americans as my blog viewers." And since there are so many people reading her now, she's also taken to explaining more about her blog, her company — Sara Shantelle produces and sells body, hair and skincare products — and her charity work.  She's put the full press release — with extensive descriptions of her sponsors and the elements of her party — on there, too.  These sponsors have already gotten their money's worth, we think.
