![Yet another family forced to fork out big bucks for dinner at 'worst seafood restaurant in the world']()
A Filipino family on holiday in Singapore had to pay $1,186.20 for their dinner at the Forum Seafood Village Restaurant on Boat Quay last April.
Their chilli crab dish alone, had cost them $707.
In a report by The New Paper, Mr. Santiago Caaway said that the amount of money his family of four had spent on the meal turned out to be more than the cost of their return flights here.
He, like many other visitors to Singapore, claimed not to have known that he'd ordered the Alaskan crab, which is famously more expensive than the mud crab.
In the same report, a spokesman at Forum Seafood, which was very recently described as a "horrid tourist trap" and the "worst seafood restaurant in the world" by members of Tripadvisor, says the restaurant clearly states its prices and that patrons know how much the dishes cost.
This isn't the first time they've made the headlines for apparently overcharging for their dishes.
The chilli crab, known to many Singaporeans as one of the country's national dishes, is also not the only seafood dish that has met with flak from discerning foodies. In 2011, a restaurant in Singapore came under fire for charging $130 for their crab bee hoon.
